When we went up the river to the Satun shipyard we had trouble finding a good place to anchor. We finally anchored (with difficulty) in a wide bend of the estuary with lines also tied to shore. Before we finished securing the lines, this barge full of bricks towed by two boats came down with the current towards us. It came very close! It was a while before our hearts slowed down to normal speed. We've heard that it goes down the river about once a week.
